History
A beginner spell that most aspiring pyromancers learn, it is known by most every fire mage and passed down through generations from teachers to students. It is a very basic spell and usually the first attack spell a pyromancer will learn to defend themselves when no other option is available.
Overview
When cast with the simple invocation and exertion of will a small and weak flame will form at the desired point such as in the palm of the hand, at a finger point or at the end of a catalyst and can be shot at a target or point by pointing and exerting will. It is hot enough to catch objects on fire and is strong enough to penetrate certain weak materials such as leather or wood and will stay embedded into the point of contact for several seconds; Burning or possibly igniting it.
The bolt is shaped like a short and fat arrow and emits light. Multiple bolts can be cast and shot rapidly and can even be controlled and guided by adept pyromancers with skill in Pyrokinesis.
Remotely casting the spell away from the body such as at a nearby location requires some skill and understanding of pyrokinesis.
Casting
Firebolt can be cast by any mage with even the most basic affinity for fire magic. By giving the most basic exertion of will and chanting an activation invocation or a similar word of power and focussing on a point of contact will manifest the spell.
Extras
The advanced forms of this spell are flame_lance; A spear of fire that can be thrown or weilded like a weapon, and spark_needle; A smaller and weaker version of the spell but much faster and more dangerous.
