The A7 Scythe Machine Pistol is one of the primary sidearms of the Iron Company-used by either security or CQB teams, and some Duskarian PDF/PMC units.

The A7 scythe machine pistol is the standard Subgun of the Iron Company-utilizing a magnum caliber cartridge capable of punching through light and medium body armor, as well as wounding anyone wearing heavy armor through blunt force trauma. The powerful round however has led to a relatively slow rate of fire and the weapon's weight-a necessity for given the caliber-has led to complaints by Duskarian PDF and PMC units that have purchased the weapon for either trial or actual use-though it does however serve to offset the somewhat severe recoil. The gun also has issues in regard to ergonomics-as both Company troops and customers have reported difficulties in the reloading of the weapon-though its relatively compact size does make it easy to handle. To help address this-a PDW configuration was released-including the use of a stock and foregrip provide far better handling and ergonomics, although reloading is still something of an issue.

The gun itself is manageable as long as one maintains a proper grip on it. While unaugment units will often require both hands to manage it-though company troops will often fire the weapon one handed in conjunction with either a melee weapon or boarding shields, firing the weapon in either short bursts or in semi-auto to increase accuracy.
