Loathed and feared by all; The office of internal affairs is an organization within the bts who act to uphold the law of the conglomerate to an uncompromising, exacting, and rigorous degree. So steady is their role within conglomerate society as its intelligence agency that despite the small numbers they hold power unchallenged by all but the Board and The Lady herself who afford the OIA a great deal of autonomy.

OIA agents often operate in teams or small groups to tackle crimes and contract violations that go beyond the scope of local appointed authorities. These often include major contract violations, crimes performed by Babel Armed Military Force - 'BAMF' marines, suspected sabotage or espionage within BTS, the oversight of highly classified special projects such as the AUGUR project, and the oversight of public morale.

The Office of Internal Affairs often operates independently of other organizations within the Conglomerate. Agents often enjoy significant latitude in the discharge of their duties, often violating moral boundaries or acquiring vast amounts of resources to achieve their ends, but are a self-policing organization that more often than not is responsible for keeping an eye out for its own member's corruption which at times leads to a watchers of the watchmen scenario.

The Psypistol is a magnetically charged capacitor-driven mass-driver-based pistol issued to Augurs. The weapon is unique to Augurs due to their ability to make rapid calculations allowing them to make accurate shots with such an unwieldy weapon as a mass driver.

The weapon has a built-in scanner that lightly penetrates surface materials and scans their properties and base makeup for matter-shaping for Augurs without the skill to easily tell at a glance or sense the properties of a material. It can also tell carbon and gas readings in the air as well as other utilities most skilled Augurs can learn to do passively in time.

The weapon has a large rifle-style magazine with specialized 7.52×32 bullets with a thorium core that the Augur is trained to know the exact weight, diameter, and properties of that can be used as a smart-bullet using the firearms flip-open screen to plan bullet trajectories by using rapid mental calculations and telekinesis to guide the bullets to have some limited ability to change their trajectory for more accurate or skillful shots. Most Augurs know the exact dimensions of their bullets and can form more with access to other metals, though without thorium it is unlikely they can guide the bullets. The fact that the firearm is a mass-driver powered by battery and capacitors means it doesn't require gunpowder and only requires a bullet and a casing to hold it and a small, easy-to-produce charge to separate the bullet from its casing.

Augur Psypistol

The Jackhammer is a magnet-powered coilgun that rapidly advances a caseless 10mm slug near-silently into a target at incredible speed and velocity. Manufactured to be used by the OIA's Liquidators against Golems but was later issued as the standard-issue primary weapon carried by OIA assault teams and liquidators alike, the weapon is a small and compact but deadly weapon that can blow near fist-sized holes in most men.

The weapon has a built-in laser that works to both the visible eye or infrared, a powerful 1,000-lumen light, a bullet-counter display, and a built-in red-dot. The weapon consists of a large but not heavy magnet-curling on the top of the weapon and a removable battery in the buttstock. The battery can be modified to produce more power to the magnets and coil to deliver more damage to the weapon in the short term but can leave further performance of the weapon underwhelming as a tradeoff.

Jackhammer SMG used by the OIA

The Pocket Estoc is a concealable, carryable, and deployable blade held within a tubular-handle-like baton grip with a simple flex-guard deployment trigger. When a simple safety is flipped the blade will spring out and deploy fully into a 26-30“ blade made of titanium and lock into place with a lockable pinrod.

The blade is thin but exceptionally sharp and surprisingly hard to break. When activating the trigger again the blade will collapse back into its handle like a baton.
