Planet Pele

Pele is a world of NDC and unlike Prazoa, it was once a rogue planet that found its way to Secunda Major System’s star orbit.

History

It was unknown where Pele came from, but during the end phase of the builders constructing Prazoa. Station Omacron’s sensors detected the arrival of the planet to the System. They scrambled to try to prevent the planet from destroying the Planet, and the Station by using gravity against it. It ended up placing the new world very close to the sun, turning the once cold rocky world hot and molten.

The Sensors scanned the new world, searching for new resources, while a contest went on to find the name of the planet. New drones were developed with a special alloy to go to the new world, to take a look, and later new starships were made. They discovered the planet to be very rich in metals, but thanks to the location of one Volcano, new materials were discovered.

They created a way station in the atmosphere to process the new metals and materials.

Planet Information

Atmosphere

Very tenuous and highly variable atmosphere (surface-bound exosphere) containing hydrogen, helium, oxygen, sodium, calcium, potassium, and water vapor, with a combined pressure level of about 10−14 bar The exosphere species originate either from the Solar wind or from the planetary crust. Solar light pushes the atmospheric gases away from the Sun, creating a comet-like tail behind the planet.

Environment

On the surface of Pele, the blistering heat from its proximity to the star turns the environment into a fiery inferno. Instead of serene oceans and flowing rivers, molten lava dominates the landscape, flowing and coursing over patches of soot-covered “stable” ground that can still be traversed cautiously. The constant movement of lava and shifting tectonic plates sculpt the terrain, thrusting rocky formations skyward to form imposing volcanoes and other landmasses.

Amidst the chaos of volcanic activity, metallic and crystalline formations punctuate the landscape, creating a surreal and otherworldly vista. Steam billows upwards from the scorched earth, a remnant of the planet's turbulent past when water once existed but now evaporates instantly upon contact with the searing surface.

The skies above Pele are shrouded in a thick cloak of black smoke, a result of the intense volcanic activity and the burning of organic matter. This dense haze obscures visibility, casting a veil over the landscape, yet paradoxically provides some respite from the scorching sun, offering patches of shadow and cover amidst the relentless heat. In this harsh and unforgiving environment, survival is a constant struggle against the elements, where every step must be carefully calculated to navigate the treacherous terrain.

1)

Fire Tornado

Fire Tornados, can be seen coursing through the planet. On the rocky ground, it leaves an orange mark, while the lava sizzles and burns. The Fire Tornados burn hot enough to damage shields and melt most metals except for ultrite or similar.

Ash Storms

Ash Storms can cause havoc with visual ability, potentially leading a victim to leave if they aren’t careful. With winds capable of blowing someone away if they aren’t careful.

Sun

As a result of the atmosphere, the Sun is strong enough to severely damage shields if caught in the open and can burn armor though it depends on the material and the technology.

Masamune Point

Masamune Point is the location on Pele in which there was an extremely rich deposit of Titanium, Steel, Tungsten, Chromium, and iridium. Unfortunately, the Volcano has a habit of erupting forcing up rocks at anything in the way. The metals get caught in the rocks as they come up though the Mining Guild has learned that they can use an electromagnetic field to catch these.

Ultrite Discovery

The Field has a habit of pushing and crushing the alloys that due to the heat inside the field and those outside, their molecules have no choice but to merge and join together into a brand new alloy. This became ultrite. They discovered this when they tried to teleport the new metal and found they couldn’t since it wasn’t in the system. It was sent to the Department for Research and Development so that they can take a look and examine the new metal.

Station

Because of how hazardous the planet was it was decided that all work in the world was to be done on a Station in its orbit. This was primarily processing facilities as well as pods to control robotic bodies to prevent deaths on the off chance that the need to go to Pele was required.
