The Environment of Everan is a desert world. As well as a wet side featuring lush jungles and underground cave systems.

From the backend sands to the violet oceans of Everan, the planet is full of mystic beauty and marked with danger in the form of wildlife and a ever-growing legion of automatons bent on ending all life on the planet.

History

The Nalden people were once a series of Nomadic tribes existing On the desert planet they called home. splintered into multiple cultures and sects each group of tribes specialized in something from trade and sciences, to combat and Diplomacy. For a time there was peace until a small craft crashed on the planet. and four creatures came forth. these creatures claimed peace for the primitive Neldan people making their bodies stronger and feeding them great knowledge. however, not all welcomed the visitors and attempted to break away. thus this was the year of the great Harrowing when the visitors known as the ancients decided to attempt to conquer the other tribes and interrupt the balance as it were. Building large walled cities and armies to take over the tribes. This was the start of the unification war or the great harrowing as some refer to it.

Millions died in the war one after another the tribes were brought to heel by force until they were one unified people. However, to keep the people unified and not break away at any chance they get steps were taken by the Ancients. Great libraries were burned and elders of all the tribes, even their own were killed en masse. Removing any history of the people ever being not unified.

This process would continue for some time, after the scars of the war had healed the peace that followed provided a boon for the now-unified Neldans. The Ancients close to their deathbeds would instill their knowledge and truth into a subspecies of Neldans referred to as Ghosts. To lead the Neldan people into a bright future before becoming one with the planet-forming the blackened mountains, the violet oceans, the Silent caves, and the mother tree. the final gift they gave the needs was Psionics to shape the world they lived in so that they may prosper.

Description

The blackened mountains

Greyish black sands as far as the eye can see peppered with obsidian-colored mountains. those with psionics would still be able to hear battles of old and hear a gentle but booming voice coming from the mountains becoming them to listen to the tails of warriors of old and to learn from them. within these mountains, the warrior caste of Neldans lives in caverns and homes built into the sides of these mountains.

The violet oceans

Deep purple and violet oceans that give a calming and hopeful feel to all who step into the waters teeming with both fish and fauna, as well as psionic energies some, say they can still communicate with the ancient who became it and often offerings are made to them as the oceans are the main source of food for the Neldan peoples.

The Silent caves

A strange cave system with lush blues and silver crystals lining the walls anyone who enters finds it near impossible to speak as no noise can be heard even if two individuals were right next to each other screaming, however, due to the psionic nature of this location and the god-like power of the ancients any thought in one's mind is spoken around for all to hear. often these caves are used as both a meditation site as well as an area to hide from robotic invaders. these caves are also home to the science and merchant caste of the Neldans

The mother tree

Vast lush jungles home to most of the wildlife and fauna on the planet both carnivorous and omnivorous. also the staging ground for the automation invaders. much like the unique psionic locations, this Location features its own unique area. mineral wheat and Living ore. It's theorized that both were created by the ancient that became the mother tree that still uses her psionics to create wonders within to help the Neldan people. Living ore is an almost tree sap-like material that when refined produces a unique metal that is capable of self-repair when given enough time to do so. and mineral wheat a crop rich in minerals as a form of superfood providing nutrients during tough times for Wildlife and Neldans alike.

Life Cycle

All cast life cycles are the same, that being said with a lifespan of 300 years it begins in the first six month of their life. Due to the reproductive capabilities of their people, one of the mates separates their inner form and attaches to the other mate. At this point for the next 6 months. This sudo budding process begins copying over DNA from the other mate and shared memories from the mate, building a psionic connection between the two of them.

After 6 months the organism falls off and crystallizes itself in the form of a stony egg as it gestates for another 6 months. At that point, the creature in this form hatches from the shell what comes out is a humanoid form covered in an almost transparent exoskeleton. In this form it's very susceptible to other predators and will instinctively look to the nearest adult for protection, If it can't sense its parents psionic signature nearby.

Within the next 10 years, the body of the offspring would begin to come to its parent's full height as it grows into its exoskeleton. Once fully developed it would begin learning from its parents how to act within its caste from dedicated to job training. After 100 years it has a coming-of-age test which is different depending on the caste. Once complete the Nalden is considered an adult and expected to fulfill its caste roll or rolls. When they begin getting to the end of their life cycle there are two options for it. Go on the walk of the ancients, where they would begin to pick up on the distant psionic signatures of their people and walk in that direction. Their exoskeleton during this time would no longer be molting as it overgrows and slowly throughout this walk entombing them as they pass on, their psionic signature by this point leaving their body and becoming one with the planet. The other option is to become a Bazerker, becoming a synthetic Nalden, the synthetic body capable of all the same features of the pure Naldens. The bazerkers by this point are meant to venture away from the planet in the hope to make a connection with people among the stars for their people.

Gender

Gender roles are nearly non-existent both male and female genders exist but due to the body types of the Nalden being devoid of common distinguishing features most tell the difference between each other based on their psionic signature.

Culture

Naldens art has a deep heritage that extends back in time to the times of the tribes and refers to all works of visual art originating from the desert region since the tribal periods. Neldan tribal art include favorite subjects such as The ancients, either alone or with worshippers, and animals in several types of scenes: repeated in rows, single, fighting each other or a beast, confronted animals by themselves or flanking a Nalden or Ancient in the Master of Animals motif, or a Tree of Life.

Poetry is the most dominant form of literature on Everan. Often in the form of epics. The most well known on their planet is the epic about how the ancients came from the stars and with their power started the first civilization of the Naldnes.

Clothing

The clothing of the Neldens is diverse to say the least. Diplomatic cast Naldens wear long robes made of regal cloths of green and gold. where as the science and multicast wear clothes of simpler cloth brown or tan pants and shirts. The warrior cast tends to wear sleeveless or more breathable clothes as they go about their day to day activities. In wartime the only difference in clothing comes from the warrior caste opting to wear armor made of multiple layers of animal hide and fiber cloth in the form of flak jackets; these would then be dyed grayish as most of their operations would take place during the night.

Food

The Nalden foodstuffs contain a carnivorous diet of poultry fish and various red meats high in trans fats and other oils. This is coupled with nuts and lagoons with aromatic spices and served in some form of oil and mineral bread on the side.

Language

Outside of Trade thanks to Nalden ghosts. The Nalden native language is more or less non-existent as they usually prefer to talk amongst themselves with telepathy so they may speak freely if around their overlords.

Naming

The naming practices of the Nalden are strange to most as they are split into three separate names. These names are based on; Cast name, parental name, and elder name. The cast name is what your cast refers to you as. The parental name is what your parents call you and the elder name is what you shall be called when you become an elder which is the last 50 years of their lifespan. These names tend to be abbreviated into three letter names for those outside of their people to call them.

Politics

The government structure of the Naldens is fairly simplified due to the small population of them compared to other civilizations. The Naldens caste system or division of labor splits the populace into 3 cases further split into two sub castes. Each caste and subcaste then elects an elder from their caste to serve as their representative on a council. This council decides on the important decisions of the Naldens from day to day life all the way to weather or not to ask for help outside of their planet.

Technology

The Technology of the Naldens is extraordinarily primitive. they as a people don't have FTL technology, and their spacecraft are limited to travel within their Solar system as even that still takes years to get around. On the planet their modes of transportation are still heavy metal and gas fueled vehicles. their military forces are further limited with no power armor mechs or energy weapons. utilizing more artillery and mortar batteries and ballistic weapons. In terms of body armor the military forces use ballistic fiber and hide as a form of flak vests.

The Only advanced technology is provided by the robotic overlords Via Biological synthetic bodies to continue servitude after death.

Economy

Due to the isolated nature of the Nalden people their society doesn't have a currency and instead does trade in resources.

The duties of the Neldan military are carried out by the warrior and engineer caste, below is a series of Mos and equipment sets for the various military units of the Neldan homeworld.

The hidden Neldan history

the four Neldan gods are in fact a sentient virus bomb that during a war was dropped on a dead world when the ship carrying them was drooped out of the sky with a few old technologies.

overtime the virus bomb created life on the dead world creating the trees oceans and creatures including the Nedlans. the four gods are just 4 separate virus bombs, the fifth one however never opened and the other 4 viruses used the fifth one sparingly to create the Neldan ghost, berserkers and guardians.
