Sakana

Sakana are a biomechanical species of “fish” in the oceans of any planet. They are a part of an Initiative to take care of the planet’s oceans and bring forth fish creatures for it. 1)

Creation

Much like their Velryba “parents” was designed by a group of Ecocentric individuals concerned over the well-being of their planet. It didn’t help that their homeworld got destroyed, so they decided that they would make something that would help with keeping their planet pollution-free. During the trip to their new home 40 years ago, they spent that time designing and perfecting their design.

Finally, they landed on their new homeworld, and then the Mining Guild formed, and with the new materials gained from that, as well as the Ironskin creature, they were finally able to create the Sakana. They watched as the first Sakana swam through the oceans and updating the Sakana with an ability to create fish, Later on, when the NDC expanded to the Secunda Major System and had cooperated with the Mining Guild to create a planet. The Velryba was inserted alongside its “offspring” the Sakana. While the Velryba took care of the atmosphere and the air, the Saka took care of the oceans and began creating life.

Biology

Sakana is a species of Biomechanical creatures with limited numbers in Sanctuary and Sirris 2 but more common in Secunda Major, and Prazoa in particular. It is one of three in the system.

Anatomy and Physiology

The Sakana is a species of biomechanical fish of varying sizes but similar appearance. Its body is shorter because of the major length, but not as bad, but was skinnier than the Velryba, with an angular and aerodynamic body. Its hide was covered in a black covering made of Version 2 iron Leather.

Like its “creator” it had six fins on the outside of its body, two were on the dorsal side, while the rest were on the side. The Dorsal fins are used for steering and maneuvering, while the side fin's second pair provides lift. It can be seen randomly near the surface, but can be found at the bottom of the oceans, Including the darkest point

Life Cycle

The Sakana are created inside of a Velryba via a fabrication device. Due to their size it takes a week to create a Sakana, and once that’s done they are released into the ocean where they swim. And as long as it's maintained, they can live as long as the Velryba themselves.

Creation

The Sakanas can create fish creatures via specialized artificial wombs that create various biological creatures. Those that come from eggs will have them encasing the fish, which were laid within places. Biological fish instincts will, of course, tell the biological fish and other sea creatures what to do, without the Sakana’s guidance so they are left alone, thus when done this creating ability is deactivated making the creature focusing on keeping the oceans clean.

(Diet)

The Sakana feeds on microbes, bacteria, algae, and plankton including copepods, krill. This is used as fuel to allow the biomechanical fish to live. Though some microbes are left alone since small tiny creatures that help the planet might feed on them. The Sakana can also eat dirty water without getting sick. This is part of its process for keeping the water clean. It also was responsible for causing the water to become salty. Thanks to the Life Seed, and with the emergence of plants, it helped create some of the coral that’s seen.

Habitat and Population

Unlike its “parent” Sakana spent the entirety of its life under water, and has even gone down into the Arusi trench. seeking out things that it needs to deal with. The population is a lot more common in the Secunda Major System.

Conflict

Sakana are non violent, even playful to entertaining people. Sakanahave also rescued victims from drowning.
