Goblinoid
Goblinoids are a family of related humanoid races. Though varied in form, all goblinoids have certain traits in common, notably sharply pointed ears, a shared language, a lifestyle of hunting and raiding, and an aptitude at stealth. Goblinoids share a similar series of traits across them such as being short-tempered, prolific breeders, and having a generally different sense of morality and a looser moral compass compared to other races. It is common to find goblinoids of different species working together,
While there are a number of colonies, outposts, and even minor nations in the Calliope Star Sector; The largest and established space-faring group of goblinoids are found in the Dreadfleet.
Goblins
Goblins refers to the most common and numerous family of goblinoids. Goblins often appear as very short (No taller than three feet) humanoids with a rough and dark green/brown/ochre/grey skin color with yellow eyes. Goblins have four fingers on each hand and four toes on each foot. They do not appear to have any dwarfistic features such as stubby limbs and instead appear as smaller humans with long and wide pointed ears, different skin tones, and yellow eyes.
Due to their nature as mischievous or outright pests; And their short tempers and nature to be prone to violence they have often been portrayed as some of the outliers of their species; Pockmarked and faces with boils and long hooked noses with broken yellow teeth and all-around ugly. The truth is that goblins rarely look like this with the exception of the ugliest of them.
Goblins also do not follow the false myth of hyper-sexual aggression or assault. Goblins, while rude and ill-tempered are perfectly likely to try to stab you over a slight but are only as likely to sexually assault a woman, man, etc. as any other sentient being. And while it is true that goblins can breed with other species it is not their only method of reproduction and is not overly common.
Hobgoblins
Hobgoblins are a type of goblinoid that is conceived from the union of a goblin and a human. Hobgoblins appear much the same as goblins do but are a size larger (often growing up to 3 1/2 through four feet tall), broader, and more human-like in nature such as slightly lighter shades of typical goblin skin colors, having shorter pointer ears, and the typical yellow eyes of goblins are a more brown/hazel in appearance.
Hobgoblins are otherwise the same as most goblins other than their size. But are often thought to be more imaginative and creative than most goblins; With their craftsmen and engineers often producing much more impressive and intricate works than what a normal goblin might.
Hobgoblins are less numerous than normal goblins and its likely to only find one hob out of a group of ten goblins. They can procreate with other races the same as goblins, as well as with other goblins and hobs. They can conceive other hobs, goblins, etc.
Orcs
Orcs are the cousins of goblins but are not as closely related to them as other goblinoids. Orcs are less human-looking than goblins in most ways such as having two tusk like teeth in a lower protruding jaw, dark green or black skin, and sunken yellow eyes. They are also much taller (up to five feet) than goblins and hobs, and are naturally muscular.
Orcs can be just as smart as goblins, but it is more common for them to fall into the sterotype of muscular meat-heads who resort to braun above all else. There are outliers to this but they are oten found in the leaders or champions of orc bands and tribes.
Orcs can also not breed with other species or even other goblinoids. But instead only with other orcs unless high-level magics, or advanced sciences are involved.
Bugbears
Bugbears are the combination of fell magics combining goblins with Ursa. They are large (up to six feet), covered in fur, strong, cunning, and vicious. Out of all the goblinoids Bugbears are the most violent and are rarely even found with other goblinoids due to cannibalistic tendencies.
Bugbears can only breed with other bugbears and are quite rare. When they are found it is often in small warbands or raiding groups.
Trolls
Trolls are the largest (up to eight feet tall) of goblinoids and are the rarest with only finding one troll out of a group of a thousand other goblinoids.
They are large, fat, dumb, and simple-minded. Often regulated in goblinoid groups as manual labor or as powerful fodder. They are always hungry and have a tendency of eating anything they can fit in their mouths (even smaller goblinoids) and sport a powerful regenerative ability when eating.

Anatomy and Physiology
Goblinoids, with the exception of trolls and bugbears, look remarkably like different colored and shorter humans even down their physiology and biology. They can grow hair, facial-hair, and hair anywhere a human can on their body. They have the same genitalia as humans (member on males, breasts and female organs on females).
They all share the trait of having four fingers on a hand (three fingers and a thumb), and four toes on a foot.
Life Cycle
Most goblinoids share a simular life-cycle. Short pregnancies and gestation periods lasting only three months with large litter-sizes ranging from a small batch of three children to the larger batches having a female of any race carrying goblinoids giving birth to up to ten goblinoids. Large goblinoids such as bugbears, orcs, and trolls often only have single-births.
Goblin babies are often very small but grow fast and reach infancy within a month, adolescence within a year, and adulthood within their second year. Adulthood, however, does not always mean mental maturity, however.
The average adult goblinoid, regardless of race, will live up to fifty years in perfect conditions but rarely do so.
Diet
Goblinoids are omnivores by nature. They will eat and can eat, nearly anything they come across and develop natural immunities and resistances to things that might make other humanoids sick or ill such as raw or spoiling meats.
Goblinoids are also naturally cannibalistic and do not balk at the consumption of not only other humanoids or sentients but also other goblinoids. They do not, however, eat living beings and instead eat dead or processed meats even when performing cannibalism.
Biological Variation
Goblinoids, with the exception of trolls and bugbears, look remarkably like different colored and shorter humans even down their physiology and biology. They can grow hair, facial-hair, and hair anywhere a human can on their body. They have the same genitalia as humans (member on males, breasts and female organs on females).
They all share the trait of having four fingers on a hand (three fingers and a thumb), and four toes on a foot.
Psychology
Goblinoids, have a commonly short temper. Leaders among their races often came to power through betrayal or aggression, rather than by more peaceful means. As such, members of the race are easily provoked and are naturally suspicious of others, and are naturally greedy.
Though goblinoids have a poor reputation overall, not all of them are dim-witted or evil. Like all peoples there are those among them who are good and some who are bad.
Being bullied by bigger, stronger creatures has taught goblinoids to exploit what few advantages they have: sheer numbers and malicious ingenuity. The concept of a fair fight is meaningless in their societie. They favor ambushes, overwhelming odds, dirty tricks, and any other edge they can devise. Goblinoids preferred to fight battles where the odds were in their favor and often flee when outmatched.
It is unknown why, even to goblinoids, but goblinoids have a close bond to Worgs which are massive hyena-like wolves with more inteligence than most types of canines. Not even trolls would eat a worg, and not even a bugbear would willingly harm one. Smaller goblinoids such as Goblins and Hobs tend to ride them.
Motivation and Emotion
Required. What drives individuals in this species? What are their emotions like? Feel free to compare them to humans, since we're familiar with that. No need to explain what happy or sad is - just talk about what is specific to this species.
Sexuality and Love
What attracts members of this species to others? Who are they attracted to? Do they feel love and, if so, how is it different (or the same) as humans?
Culture
Naming
Goblinoid names are usually short and guttural sounding. There are longer names as well though, often among female goblins, but 1-2 syllable names are generally more common. Many goblins are also known simply by a type of nickname, with examples such as Stabbin' ikk, Pest, Bucket, and Mis the Wise.
Goblinoids often also dont have surename or a last name. These are reserved for tribe, warband, or clan names. As such a goblin named Hurguth in the Firebrand tribe would be known as Hurguth Firebrand in the case of a tribe. In the case of larger groups such as clans or warbands they would be known as Hurguth of Clan Firebrand. Only powerful goblinoids often bestow new surnames or form new clans which make large groups of goblinoids with the same clan or surname as well-established and known groups.
Attire
Goblinoids dress much the same as any humanoid but differ by influenced culture. Robes, tunics, pants, shirts, armors. All are more common to find on a goblinoid than finding one naked unless they are poor.
The exception to this are bugbears, which often do not wear much clothing due to their fur. Orcs who prefer sleevless vests and armors, and Trolls who wear more baggy and easy to wear clothing.
What is common across all goblinoids, however, more than any type of clothing is their wearing of earings, studs, and tattoos.
