Gatalia is primarily a low-fantasy setting in which science takes priority over magic. No magic exists in the setting, and Gatalia itself is an Earth-like planet inhabited by not just one, but multiple species of anthropologically accurate humans.
The natives exist in medieval-era societies and the planet is non-consensually preserved by aliens (called “gaolers”) that deem Gatalia a national park.

Influence
- Anything that has an effect in the scale of a region (or multiple) on the map must be approved by a shard manager. A region is any divided area on the below map:
Roleplaying (NPCs)
- People, regardless of technological advancement and culture, are generally intelligent even if they are not knowledgeable or educated.
- The gaolers that control Viliva 37 are environmentalists. They will take reasonable action to minimize ecological impact from outsiders on Gatalia.
- Despite the above bullet, their entire civilization is not focused on protecting it, and they do not care for individual interests. Only a small sect protects Gatalia's ecosystem, and they do not care if a small amount of people suffer. They only care that the ecosystem is preserved.
Worldbuilding
- Players are free to design cultures, religions, species, and other setting elements that fit with the vision of the shard.
- Gatalia is Earth-like. However, it is not Earth. Animal species are expected to be different, although with parallels to Earth if desired. Technological advancements can be roughly the same as Earth during the middle ages, with small differences.
- For the time being, there are no sapient non-humans local to Gatalia.
