History
A Brief History of the Neldans:
1. Origins as a Viral Weapon: The history of the Neldans can be traced back to a time when the Xelthorians, in their quest for power, developed a potent biological weapon known as the “Evo-virus.” This virus was designed to target and manipulate the genetic makeup of other life forms, rendering them subservient to the Xelthorian empire.
2. The Evo-virus Escapes: During a catastrophic experiment, a containment breach led to the accidental release of the Evo-virus. It rapidly spread through the Xelthorian laboratories, infiltrating various life forms and granting them exceptional psychic abilities. These altered life forms, previously unremarkable, began to evolve into what would later become the Neldans.
3. Emergence of the Neldans: Over time, the affected life forms, now called Neldans, exhibited extraordinary psychic powers. They developed telepathy, telekinesis, and the ability to manipulate the fundamental forces of the universe. Remarkably, the Evo-virus had transformed them into a new sentient species with a deep connection to the cosmos.
4. Genderless and Eternally Connected: The Neldans evolved into a genderless race, as their physical forms were no longer constrained by traditional reproductive methods. Instead, they achieved a state of unity and interconnectedness, with their psychic abilities enabling them to share thoughts and experiences effortlessly.
5. A Peaceful Civilization: The Neldans, unlike the Xelthorians who created the Evo-virus, pursued a path of peace, wisdom, and harmony. They dedicated themselves to understanding the universe's secrets and sought to protect knowledge, culture, and the wellbeing of all life forms they encountered.
6. Guardians of Wisdom: The Neldans recognized the importance of preserving knowledge and cultural heritage, just as the Guardians did. Their psychic abilities made them natural protectors of cosmic wisdom, and they played a vital role in safeguarding the heritage of various civilizations.
7. Relations with the Guardians: The Neldans, through their deep connection with cosmic energies, forged a unique bond with the ancient Guardians created by the Xelthorians. They recognized the Guardians' potential and helped activate and reprogram them to serve as protectors of their own civilization.
8. Peaceful Coexistence: The Neldans found a way to live peacefully alongside the Guardians, sharing knowledge and understanding, which allowed them to ensure the preservation of valuable cultural artifacts and cosmic wisdom.
9. Legacy of Enlightenment: The Neldans became known across the universe as enlightened beings who embodied the pursuit of knowledge and the peaceful coexistence of diverse cultures. Their legacy continues to inspire those who encounter their unique civilization.
The Neldans, born from a disastrous experiment, transformed from a viral weapon into a race of genderless, psychic beings who dedicated their existence to the pursuit of wisdom, protection of knowledge, and the harmonious coexistence of life throughout the cosmos. Their history serves as a remarkable testament to transformation, enlightenment, and the potential for redemption.
Description
Geography and Climate
Everan is divided into two distinct hemispheres: the Wet Side and the Dry Side. The Wet Side is characterized by lush jungles, violet oceans, and a tropical climate, while the Dry Side is a vast expanse of endless black sand deserts, where the relentless sun beats down relentlessly.
The Wet Side
The Wet Side of Everan is a lush and verdant paradise, home to dense jungles teeming with exotic flora and fauna. Its most striking feature is the Violet Oceans, whose deep purple waters stretch to the horizon. These oceans are filled with unique and unknown species of aquatic life, their bioluminescent glow casting an otherworldly radiance.
The Dry Side
In stark contrast, the Dry Side of Everan is a harsh and unforgiving landscape of black sand deserts. The Blackened Mountains loom on the horizon, their jagged peaks piercing the clear, azure sky. These mountains are believed to be the source of the planet's mysterious black sand, which covers the desert in a vast, ebony sea.
Ancient Ruins
Scattered across Everan's surface are the haunting remnants of the Xelthorian civilization, once a great and technologically advanced empire. The ruins, partially consumed by the relentless sands of the desert, are a testament to the lost knowledge and glory of the past.
The Mother Tree
In the heart of the lush jungles on the Wet Side, the Mother Tree stands as a symbol of life and resilience. This colossal tree, with its massive roots and towering canopy, is said to hold the secrets of the planet's unique ecosystem and is revered by both the Neldan race and explorers seeking knowledge and sanctuary.
Silent Caves
Beneath the Blackened Mountains, the Silent Caves wind deep into the planet's core. These mysterious caverns are a labyrinth of tunnels and chambers, shrouded in perpetual darkness. Home to a population of hexapod wildlife and unknown fauna, the Silent Caves are a place of both fascination and fear.
The Everan Sanctuary
The Neldans, a genderless psychic race with a deep connection to the cosmos, have established a sanctuary on the border between the Wet and Dry Sides. Their settlement is a place of peace and enlightenment, where they share their wisdom with those who seek to understand the universe's mysteries. Everan's unique combination of vibrant life and desolate landscapes, along with its ancient ruins and the presence of the Neldans, makes it a planet of unparalleled wonder and intrigue. It continues to beckon explorers and researchers, eager to unravel its many mysteries and secrets.
Life Cycle
All cast life cycles are the same, that being said with a lifespan of 300 years it begins in the first six month of their life. Due to the reproductive capabilities of their people, one of the mates separates their inner form and attaches to the other mate. At this point for the next 6 months. This sudo budding process begins copying over DNA from the other mate and shared memories from the mate, building a psionic connection between the two of them.
After 6 months the organism falls off and crystallizes itself in the form of a stony egg as it gestates for another 6 months. At that point, the creature in this form hatches from the shell what comes out is a humanoid form covered in an almost transparent exoskeleton. In this form it's very susceptible to other predators and will instinctively look to the nearest adult for protection, If it can't sense its parents psionic signature nearby.
Within the next 10 years, the body of the offspring would begin to come to its parent's full height as it grows into its exoskeleton. Once fully developed it would begin learning from its parents how to act within its caste from dedicated to job training. After 100 years it has a coming-of-age test which is different depending on the caste. Once complete the Nalden is considered an adult and expected to fulfill its caste roll or rolls. When they begin getting to the end of their life cycle there are two options for it. Go on the walk of the ancients, where they would begin to pick up on the distant psionic signatures of their people and walk in that direction. Their exoskeleton during this time would no longer be molting as it overgrows and slowly throughout this walk entombing them as they pass on, their psionic signature by this point leaving their body and becoming one with the planet. The other option is to become a Bazerker, becoming a synthetic Nalden, the synthetic body capable of all the same features of the pure Naldens. The bazerkers by this point are meant to venture away from the planet in the hope to make a connection with people among the stars for their people.
Gender
Gender roles are nearly non-existent both male and female genders exist but due to the body types of the Nalden being devoid of common distinguishing features most tell the difference between each other based on their psionic signature.
Culture
Naldens art has a deep heritage that extends back in time to the times of the tribes and refers to all works of visual art originating from the desert region since the tribal periods. Neldan tribal art include favorite subjects such as The ancients, either alone or with worshippers, and animals in several types of scenes: repeated in rows, single, fighting each other or a beast, confronted animals by themselves or flanking a Nalden or Ancient in the Master of Animals motif, or a Tree of Life.
Poetry is the most dominant form of literature on Everan. Often in the form of epics. The most well known on their planet is the epic about how the ancients came from the stars and with their power started the first civilization of the Naldnes.
Clothing
The clothing of the Neldens is diverse to say the least. Diplomatic cast Naldens wear long robes made of regal cloths of green and gold. where as the science and multicast wear clothes of simpler cloth brown or tan pants and shirts. The warrior cast tends to wear sleeveless or more breathable clothes as they go about their day to day activities. In wartime the only difference in clothing comes from the warrior caste opting to wear armor made of multiple layers of animal hide and fiber cloth in the form of flak jackets; these would then be dyed grayish as most of their operations would take place during the night.
Food
The Nalden foodstuffs contain a carnivorous diet of poultry fish and various red meats high in trans fats and other oils. This is coupled with nuts and lagoons with aromatic spices and served in some form of oil and mineral bread on the side.
Language
Outside of Trade thanks to Nalden ghosts. The Nalden native language is more or less non-existent as they usually prefer to talk amongst themselves with telepathy so they may speak freely if around their overlords.
Naming
The naming practices of the Nalden are strange to most as they are split into three separate names. These names are based on; Cast name, parental name, and elder name. The cast name is what your cast refers to you as. The parental name is what your parents call you and the elder name is what you shall be called when you become an elder which is the last 50 years of their lifespan. These names tend to be abbreviated into three letter names for those outside of their people to call them.
Politics
The government structure of the Naldens is fairly simplified due to the small population of them compared to other civilizations. The Naldens caste system or division of labor splits the populace into 3 cases further split into two sub castes. Each caste and subcaste then elects an elder from their caste to serve as their representative on a council. This council decides on the important decisions of the Naldens from day to day life all the way to weather or not to ask for help outside of their planet.
Technology
The Technology of the Naldens is extraordinarily primitive. they as a people don't have FTL technology, and their spacecraft are limited to travel within their Solar system as even that still takes years to get around. On the planet their modes of transportation are still heavy metal and gas fueled vehicles. their military forces are further limited with no power armor mechs or energy weapons. utilizing more artillery and mortar batteries and ballistic weapons. In terms of body armor the military forces use ballistic fiber and hide as a form of flak vests.
The Only advanced technology is provided by the robotic overlords Via Biological synthetic bodies to continue servitude after death.
Economy
Due to the isolated nature of the Nalden people their society doesn't have a currency and instead does trade in resources.

The hidden Neldan history
the four Neldan gods are in fact a sentient virus bomb that during a war was dropped on a dead world when the ship carrying them was drooped out of the sky with a few old technologies.
overtime the virus bomb created life on the dead world creating the trees oceans and creatures including the Nedlans. the four gods are just 4 separate virus bombs, the fifth one however never opened and the other 4 viruses used the fifth one sparingly to create the Neldan ghost, berserkers and guardians.
