An ancient, shapeshifting super soldier created by Ashiaver's sárkány to subjugate the other species of the planet. She is opposed to this purpose, and has spent the entirety of her lifetime adopting false identities, faking her own deaths, and trying to find peace with herself.

• The ókori were super soldiers made by the sárkany, which backfired and put a hold on their rule.
• As time marched, a nameless Mirie was drawn to the Navi, due to her appearance coincidentally resembling the common people of that nation.
• Throughout the ages, she became somewhat of a cryptid, named “the Kurokaze” (“Black Wind”).
• In folk legends, the Kurokaze is a spirit that manifests itself as various animals, always with black fur. In tales, its moral alignment is mixed. Often it is malevolent, but sometimes it aids or even saves the characters who encounter it.
• Obscure tales make the Kurokaze an ókori, a kind of spirit and powerful trickster of legend that shifts between many forms.
• When traveling outside of her local area, she calls herself “Mirie Kurokaze”, the first name of which has wholesome connotations. She is only able to do this because the Kurokaze is a legend local to the True Navi and does not ring bells elsewhere.
