Plots

In a literary work, film, or other narrative, the plot is the sequence of events where each affects the next one through the principle of cause-and-effect. The causal events of a plot can be thought of as a series of events linked by the connector “and so”.

Plots can vary from the simple—such as in a traditional ballad—to forming complex interwoven structures, with each part sometimes referred to as a subplot.

On Project Multiverse, Plots are collaborative stories told by a group of players with one (or more) player/s in charge of what happens next. They are not the only way to tell a story, but many enjoy the structure they provide.

A plot can have one or more players. Plots are often led by a Game Master, but any players are free to write together without having a particular person in charge.

Plots aren't considered truly canon without the signoff of a related Shard Master or staff. This doesn't mean they didn't happen, only that other characters might treat it as hearsay, legends, or tall tales until they're more officially canonized.

This lets players have the flexibility to be as creative as they'd like with their stories, without worrying about ensuring that they fit into any larger narratives. Most stories, even the ones with world-shattering consequences, don't impact the setting as a whole.

To make a new plot, you can use our plot creation form or add a new plot in the appropriate wiki namespace directly.

You don't have to make a page on the wiki (by using the above form or otherwise) to start a new plot - but players find it useful.
