The Vedette is a light, unarmored four-wheeled ground vehicle used by the Babel Armed Military Force - 'BAMF' as a reliable recon, skirmisher, harasser, and light transport by marines. It is the primary day-to-day transport used by BAMF outside of direct frontline combat.
The Vedette interior has room for five marines. With one driver, one passenger seat in the front, two passenger seats in the rear, and a middle-cupola for a gunner the Vedette can carry and entire fireteam.
Besides this, the vehicle has a large rear cargo space that can be accessed either from inside the vehicle or from inside. There are racks for equipment, deployable rails in the bed for a stretcher, and interior cubbies and openable small lockers for equipment and gear.
The front passenger's seat has a console with a GPS map, tactical data, and a built-in radio.
The Vedette is powered by a powerful battery bank that is recharged slowly by either an alternator or by plugging into a charging station when at a base or supply depot. The battery powers the entire vehicle and can run for several days on low use, or the better part of a day with frequent use.
The Vedette has a powerful 10,000 Lumen spotlight mounted on the underside of its turret, as well as four smaller spotlights on its roof not including the vehicle's normal low/high beams.
The Vedette has very light armor enough to at best shrug off low-caliber small arms at range. It is not meant to take direct fire and is only just more armored than a normal day-to-day vehicle; With thicker ceramic built body, and ballistic glass.
The Vedette has two variants with different weapons.
The standard variant of the vehicle has a turret with a 12.7mm automatic heavy machinegun. With good range and a steady fire rate matched with a 100-round belt of caseless ammunition the standard Vedette is a threat to not only infantry but also light vehicles and unawares aircraft. With a 10,000-lumen spotlight under the weapon and pointed wherever the weapon aims it is devestating to be caught in the crosshaires of this weapon.
The Second variant of the Vedette replaces the HMG with a wire-guided reloadable missile launcher. While not as dangerous to infantry the missile is capable of busting light or medium tanks if not mobility-killing heavier ones at ranges up to 4km. The weapon shares the same 10,000-lumen spotlight as the HMG.
