A pair of advanced, if quirky, A.I. 'sisters' who share the body of a custom-built war machine. Mikali is carefree and excitable and sees the more mature Flos as an elder sister. Both share a wicked sense of humour, with Flos having a tendency to prank and tease both Mikali and others. Mikali is often quick to laugh at her sister's jokes while being simultaneously as fast at complaining when she becomes the butt of said pranks. Despite their clashes, the two are all-business in combat and work together effectively in their jobs as death machines.

Mikali and FlOS were both A.I.s created by the not-for-profit organization “Artificial Rights and Care Kindred” (or A.R.a.C.K) during the A.I. self-sufficiency movement that occurred in some Hassani cultures (3367 GC). A.R.a.C.K. had a number of beliefs, namely that artificial intelligence should be considered equivalent to biological life, and that self-sufficiency and general-use was superior to “slave A.I.” that is designed for special purposes.
The results of A.R.a.C.K.'s ideals were many A.I.s that were polarizing to the industry. Some experts saw the strong; contrarian and often rebellious personalities of the A.I.s as ineffective, while others praised them for their intelligent and independent thought.
As many of A.R.a.C.K.'s artificial intelligence programs were commissioned and free to install, they ended up installed in many comparatively cheap and custom machines shortly after the Last War. One such machine was a battle mech, built by “Quality Used A.I. Warmachines Ltd”. The company dealt in recycling old war machines, often upgrading them and installing “to-date” A.I. in them. Of course, “to date” was as far from the truth as they could manage without finding legal trouble.
The machine itself was designed to house two A.I.s, one designated to piloting and the other to maintenance. In the case of Mikali and FlOS, Mikali was installed to pilot, and FlOS to maintain.
Mikali comes across as excitable and vaguely childish in personality. She could uncharitably be described as air-headed as well, being easily distracted and reacting with strong emotions to social stimuli. There is a paradoxical divide between this seeming incompetence and her otherwise professional and efficient conduct when 'on the job', making it unclear how much of her behavior is 'an act' or not. On occasion, Mikali can display sadistic tendencies, particularly when egged on by FlOS. She adores her 'older sister' and will come to her defense without hesitation, sometimes in a nonsensical or hypocritical fashion.
FlOS is more vitriolic and unhinged than Mikali, often using inflammatory language and behaving sadistically. She is not actively malicious towards allies and friends, instead expressing her sadistic tendencies through mischief; abrasive quips; and snarkiness. Although she would loathe to admit it, friction between those she knows closely makes her anxious, which may drive her to reluctantly and shamefully heal relationships she recklessly burned with her usual attitude. Towards enemies, FlOS can be inhumane and fearmongering, often resorting to excessive violence and cruelty. She is sharp-witted and often seen as the brains of the operation.
