History

Vesperas earliest most haunting are of the sirens and the terrifying rumble of the space elevator's collapse from the vantage of the colony ship her people had escaped upon. She was among the lucky few loaded onto the final colony ship alongside the Lady Ishtar and the Board. upon the landing and colonization she fell into the growing circles of the Cult, finding solace in the idea that their suffering was a divine trial by the Lady Ishtar who had saved them and planted them anew in her garden of darkness.

Upon arrival at Ereshkigal, Vespera displayed a terrifying aptitude for data-management and psychological profiling. She quickly climbed the ranks of the BTS administrative ladder, eventually landing a mid-level role in the Personnel Harmony division (HR).

Rumors persist that she was hand-picked for her role by a high-ranking contract holder within the OIA to serve as an internal watchdog within the cult. While she officially handles contract disputes and employee morale, she has developed a reputation for personal bias and screening of citizen-employees, elevating contracts of those within the cult to further its goals and encouraging those of lower strata into its embrace for the same.

Appearance

Vespera stands at a tall 5'10“ with a slender, almost skeletal build that suggests she spends more time in data-streams and with no bright sun to correct such remains sallow. Her skin is a pale, porcelain tone, typical of those who live within the shadowed arcologies of Ereshkigal. Her movements are calculated and precise—she never fidgets, maintaining a statue-like stillness until she needs to act.

Personality

Vespera is the embodiment of “Corporate Zen.” She speaks in a soft, melodic tone and utilizes an extensive vocabulary of corporate-speak to mask her true intentions. She is never openly angry; instead, she becomes increasingly polite and helpful as she determines how to “re-allocate” a problematic individual.

Underneath the veneer of the BTS HR professional lies a fanatical devotee of Lady Ishtar. She views the Conglomerate's employees not as people, but as components in a grand machine designed to honor the Lady. To Vespera, dissent is not a political opinion—it is a biological error that must be corrected. She is zealously hostile toward the Separatists but expresses this through chillingly calm “re-education” sessions and bureaucratic sabotage.
