The Velryba are large creatures that fly in the skies above cities on any given planet. They are a part of an Initiative to take care of the planet in terms of keeping it livable for biological and Synthetic life. 1)

The Velryba was designed by a group of Ecocentric individuals concerned over the well-being of their planet. It didn’t help that their homeworld got destroyed, so they decided that they would make something that would help with keeping their planet pollution-free. During the trip to their new home 40 years ago, they spent that time designing and perfecting their design.
Finally, they landed on their new homeworld, and then the Mining Guild formed, and with the new materials gained from that, as well as the Ironskin creature, they were finally able to create the Velryba. The first of the species began its life just flying through the skies doing what they wanted it to. Later on, when the NDC expanded to the Secunda Major System and had cooperated with the Mining Guild to create a planet. The Velryba was inserted alongside its “offspring” the Sakana. The Velryba began taking care of the atmosphere and making sure that no one was causing problems for the planet in terms of pollution and so on.
Since then, it’s been one of the sights of the world, just flying by without a care in the world.
The Velryba is a species of Biomechanical creatures with limited numbers in Sanctuary and Sirris 2 but more common in Secunda Major, and Prazoa in particular. It is one of three in the system.
The Velryba are large creatures with a length of 100 feet (30 meters)) and they weigh up to 173 tons. Though the weight is measured on the ground rather than while they are flying.
It has a long, broad body, at the top, its hide appeared to be covered in purple reflective scales while below was a paler color, which is made out of Version 2 iron Leather. It had six wings on the outside of its body, The first and third pair of wings are comparatively small and used for steering and maneuvering, while the much larger second pair provides lift.
Its skeletal structure is composed of metals that offer durability but allow for the flight of the creature. The organs within the creature are mostly organic, but there were a few with mechanical traits including a coolant system. For Flight, there’s a version of the Synthetic part known as the Flight Matrix.
The Creature’s stomach is a furnace hellhole that incinerates bacteria and other microbes and insects which it uses as a form of fuel that keeps it operational in addition to some gas.
The Velruba are not so much born as created, originally, a group created them, but later on, certain species such as the Island type are able to create them within their bodies and expel them, like certain animals. This is done via an Island type’s fabrication device which has eaten metal contained in rocks once a volcano has erupted.
The “gestation” after this is 12 months, for it to complete its construction of a new Velryba which is unceremoniously dumped out. Since then, unless it has sustained damage, it will live for a very long time.
The Velryba has a fabrication machine that has created the Sakana to help the water of Planet Prazoa’s oceans. Though once all of those species were created and now in the ocean, the fabricated device is deactivated. It will only activate when it has detected a Sakana has been destroyed.
Velryba’s diet consists of microbes, bacteria, and certain invasive species of insects. Like whale sharks it opens its mouth, and they all go into it and a passage is opened so to speak that transfer them into its stomach where their lives are used as fuel for the creature. It is also capable of consuming gas-related matter, and it's because of this part that allows it to do something special.
When gas like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide as well as other gas or an atmosphere that have traces of oxygen in it. It can use its stomach’s heat to separate the molecules which are captured by the electromagnetic fields and then are transferred. The gasses that allow people to live and breathe without machines are then expelled via vents along its body. 6)
The Velryba spends its time just floating through the skies, pushing through the clouds, and just live. They don’t need to rest unless maintenance is needed, so they’d be able to survive in a Gas giant or something similar. They are rare outside the system at the moment, but it might be possible for them to be transported.
Although there isn’t a whole lot that can differ between individual Velryba. There is a variation called the Island Velryba, which were created on accident, and Spotted Velryba. As a Biomechanical creature they don’t have blood, and they commonly have a standard length and width except for Island Velryba.
The Island variation came about by accident. It was during the construction phase when someone thought they were finished building a planet that they unleashed these colossal monstrosities onto the planet. However, Prazoa hadn’t been finished yet, and that they wanted to do strategic bombardment. And some of those rocks fell on a few of the larger variety, and when the life seed was dropped well. An island floating in mid-air was born.
The builders couldn’t do anything without damaging the island Velryba so they left them alone. This meant that some islands floated in mid-air, though now as high as the usual Velryba.
Velryba is the most docile life form on the entire planet, possibly even in the entire sector. If someone were to land on their back they wouldn’t do anything to get them off, which would allow them to get a ride. They won't attack anyone, and if someone were flying in front of them while their mouth was open, the Velryba would close it immediately, and move around them carefully.
