As the Company's Primary target primary targets are dangerous xenolife forms, it would stand to reason that a heavy caliber stopping rifle would be needed. Pulling the rifle from the old company records, and making use of new manufacturing techniques and materials materials Steiner revived the Thunderer Heavy Rifle, able to threaten both man and beast alike. Utilizing materials such as a heavy-duty steel-tungsten alloy with chrome lining for the barrel and a heavy plassteel frame along with better recoil control mechanisms, the weapon while hard on the shooter is nowhere near as punishing as the original. Though while its main use is taking down dangerous game, it can also reasonably threaten power armor units, though specialized ammunition does exist that can more reliably do so, whereas others may have other…nastier effects.
A heavy, brutal looking weapon, though the current model is somewhat more refined than the previous variant.

14.9x76mm Standard. The standard cartridge of the Thunderer Heavy Rifle, the round uses oddly enough a square tip-meant to stop a target dead in its tracks, be it a dangerous animal or a charging Onikari. Though ballistic performance does degrade a little quicker over longer distances, it is still a large, heavy round traveling at fairly high speeds and maintains most of its kinetic energy on impact. Upon impact, the round punches through the hide, body armor or skin, shattering bone and causing major cavitation through a target's body as it tumbles end over end. This round is capable of taking limbs and causing critical, if not outright lethal injuries to a target. In the event the target does have armor or a hide that can prevent penetration-the square tip acts like a hammer, pulverizing flesh and bone.
14.9x76mm LV The 14.9 LV, or low velocity, is primarily a training round and but is occasionally used in urban environments, though over penetration is still a concern. The round uses a ball tip, and simply punches a big hole through a target.
14.9x76mm INCSLAP The Incendiary Sabot Light Armor Piercing, or INCSLAP, is a small, needle-like projectile, usually Tungsten with a white phosphorus core, with a plastic case around it. Upon being fired, the round sheds its case and flies at a target at extreme velocity This round is designed to counter most types of power-armor, as the tungsten projectile is designed to splinter apart once it has penetrated, releasing its deadly payload and burning a target from the inside out. This is to ensure that even if the hit was not a kill shot, the secondary damage caused by the phosphorus payload will ensure either the maiming, poisoning or outright death of a target, whether due to impact, puncturing, burn trauma, or the toxicity of the Phosphorus.
14.9x76mm “Beast Killer” The beast killer is an odd round, as it seems to resemble the 14.9x76mm LV, albeit with a black tip. Hitting as hard as the Standard, the weapon on impact releases an Alkaline solution that emulsifies, or liquefies flesh. This is absolutely devastating to the target-and is mainly used to bring down creatures that are simply too dangerous to try and engage with standard rounds, though it has the unfortunate side effect of ruining the meat as well.
14.76mm Radiation Munition An extremely dangerous round issued to Drudge squad units, the bullet is composed of extremely dense materials, and is laced with a combination of radium and thorium. This is meant to bring down genetically engineered creatures. Once the round has penetrated, it is designed to splinter apart inside and disperse the radioactive materials inside a target. This is to ensure maximum lethality while minimizing exposure to friendlies.
Maintaining the weapon is simple-a simple pin on the back of the receiver, just before the fire selector is removed and then the receiver itself is opened up, and the mechanism is pulled out and can be scrubbed with your finger if you don't have your kit. After you're done, stick the mechanism back in and lock it up.
The previous model was made from wood and heavy duty steel with a rubber buttstock. The weapon did have full auto capability meant for power-armored troops, but was removed after a number of incidents resulted in the recoil pulverizing the soldier inside-though this more to do with poor armor design than actual problems with the rifle. Previous iterations were developed from the original bolt action variant, leading to the current model.
