The Wyrdwood Moon is a place of fantastical creatures and events, with modern (albeit overgrown) cities interspersed.
Once little more than curiosity, the Moon became the headquarters of the Wyrwycky's War Witches and, later, the last bastion of their entire civilization.
As the story goes, the Wyr looked up from their ancestral home at their moon and could see that it thrived with live. As technology progressed and they reached for the stars, they found the Moon was habitable, though not exactly hospitable. The Wyrdwood's ecosystem was a thriving one and it was eager to reclaim any territory that was lost. A cleared space for a camp rarely lasted more than a few days before trees and other plant life had reclaimed the area - and anything that was still on it.
It wasn't until some time later that the woman known as the Morrigan, the First Witch, discovered the Wyrd and changed their civilization forever. Sadly, while the Wyr gained much prosperity from their new powers, it would not be uncontested. A terrifying, unending foe known as the Droma pushed them back from all that they had claimed until they had nothing left but their homeworld - and then they took that, too.
The few remaining survivors fled to the Wyrdwood Moon, whose mystery and unyielding nature protected them.
Now, the Moon holds cities that blend their ancient technological prowess and a partnership with nature. Skyscrapers are avoided entirely, as is anything else that would breach the Wyrdwood's canopy, but beneath the boughs are houses and businesses, schools and places of (ecologically friendly) industry.
