The 8th sphere of the Corporeal Rift. The air of the Mollisphere is breathable to whichever species occupies it, though consistently near to total humidity. The atmosphere is dimly lit and foggy. This dim lighting is present everywhere, regardless of how shielded from ambient light an area is. Gravity is comfortable.

The Mollisphere consists primarily of nacre pillars, inclines and slopes. This nacre belongs to an undefined species labelled 'Ineffabilis' and houses large, mucus covered masses of flesh.

All surfaces in the Mollisphere are consistent with a mollusk-like organism. It is reasonable to assume that the entire sphere is one, infinitely sized animal. However, due to its infinite size, this cannot be proven true. For example, when a pillar is found, it is impossible to know if it is connected to the surrounding terrain until both ends are found. As spheres in the Rift are infinite in volume, there are an infinite number of pillars, which makes confirming the population of Ineffabilis specimens seemingly improbable.

All known landmarks believed to be Ineffabilis are either connected or unconfirmed to be connected. Only one specimen is known to be observed for this reason.

Common features of the terrain are dominantly shelled, though they may also include mucus-pools, eyes, and limbs such as stalks; mollusk feet and tendrils.

Scientifically known as Indutus cultrix, and colloquially as sycophantoms, these beings contribute a significant portion of the megafauna population in the Mollisphere. The name 'sycophantom' is a combination of the words 'sycophant' and 'phantom', so named for both their theocratic habits and their eerily quiet, gliding locomotion.

• They form a massive civilisation of unknown size, spanning multiple spheres.
• Use of a telepathic internet between colonies and heavy use of metamagic are both known.
• Sycophantoms are completely blind, but have exceptional hearing from their phonic plates, and an acute sense of smell from their mouths.
• Psychologically, sycophantoms have a high dependency on greater powers. They have no sense of individuality.
  • Dependency. For most, this need is filled by communion with the sycophantom superorganism (internet). They broadcast their thought processes between each other to make fast, pseudo-diplomatic decisions.
  • Worship. Many sycophantoms fill this need with extreme zealousness and reverence. They find a higher power, whether tangible or not (like that of a 'god'), and robotically follow its teachings to a fault. For most sycophantoms, the 'god' they use is the Mollisphere itself, assigning attributes and qualities to it that allow them to 'act in its image'.

These are the laws the sycophantom internet imposes on its colonies and other species:

• One must not harm the flesh of the Mollisphere outside of a regulated ceremony.
• Infants regardless of species are not permitted to exist unsanctioned.
• One must not produce citric smells.
• Non-worshippers must not speak the Tongue of the Mollisphere.
• One must dispose of or mark the presence of salt.

Breaking any of these commandments is punishable by death or religious sacrifice.
