An ancient, shapeshifting super soldier created by Ashiaver's sárkány to subjugate the other species of the planet. She is opposed to this purpose, and has spent the entirety of her lifetime adopting false identities, faking her own deaths, and trying to find peace with herself.
Period: 3190-3202 GC (12 years)
During this period, Kurokaze lived purely in the wilds. As she was juvenile for the first couple of years of this identity, this is rather astonishing.
Period: 3202-3251 GC (49 years)
Kurokaze is adopted and trained by a war veteran of the family name “Hashimoto”. He names her “Mirie” at first. After having trained her for some time, determined by his perceived potential in her, it becomes clear that she would have to adopt a new identity in order to pursue her talents. For this reason, she would flip between the identities of “Mirie” and “Minato”, taking the name of her sensei.
Period: 3251-3277 GC (36 years)
After the death of her sensei, and her apparent lack of aging, she went into an existential crisis and faked her own death. From here, she adopted a new identity and served as a soldier. During this time, she fell in love with a woman. This identity did not “live” long enough to marry.
Period: 3277-3328 GC (51 years)
After going missing in action, Kurokaze retired the identity of Shun Nagasawa and posed as a daughter of her previous identity, Mirie Hashimoto. She put aside her training as a warrior during this time and made an attempt to settle down and enter society with the public identity of a woman. She had 2 husbands and despite her best efforts, could not produce children from either of them.
Period: 3328-3370 GC (42 years)
Kurokaze attempts suicide. Having survived, she fabricates her death once again, and forges a new identity as a male. This time, she returns to her martial training to refamiliarize herself with the changing military climate. Near the end of this period, she was discovered to be female and forced to retire the identity.
Period: 3370-3387 GC (17 years)
Inspired by the legends she is certain were propagated by her slip ups throughout the years, Kurokaze performs an experiment. She fakes her death as Reo Okamoto, and retreats to the wilds. Here, she adopts an identity as a vaesan, attempting to get closer to her true identity as an ókori that she had lost over the last century. This ended after an incident where a large battalion of soldiers were ordered to kill her under the assumption that she was a monster. The incident resulted in 14 casualties out of the 30 soldiers sent to slay her.
Period: 3387-3417 GC (30 years)
Coming uncomfortably close to death, and morally disturbed by the number of innocent men she had to kill to survive, Mirie discarded her identity as The Kurokaze and rejoined society as a male hunter of vaesan, utilizing her new found knowledge of the weaknesses in the true navis offenses and defenses. This identity had to be discarded after some got dangerously close to both uncovering her identity as a woman and all of her others.
Period: 3417-3453 GC (36 years)
Since some time had passed since she last settled, Kurokaze became exhausted and seeked life as a woman, faking the death of her last identity again, this time in a meticulously planned duel. This time, she enlisted the aid of members of the Hashimoto family, explaining her situation despite the shock and awe she would receive from doing so. Together, they forged a fake birth and abandonment that was proposed to have happened 20 years prior. With this, she once again attempted life as a civilian woman and married. She did not have any children.
Period: 3453-3500 GC (47 years)
After the death of her last husband, she embraced the life of an outcast and ran to the wilds. She dressed as a man and took the place of a lowly sellsword.
Period: 3270 GC - Current
Throughout the entirety of her life, Kurokaze has used this identity in a number of variations. She only uses it outside of Tyria, and uses it most prominently precisely every 50 years, when she pilgrimages across Praeth. Her first use of the identity was at age 80.
As an ókori, she can take on the forms of all other demographics of Ashiaver, both partially and fully.
She can take the form of a black dire wolf. Throughout her life, this has been the only form she could take without drawing suspicion. Otherwise, it is essentially her jack of all trades.
Thick, defined, black, glistening scales. Stocky build. Long, scraping horns. Wings are long and flowing, tattered on the edges, and guided by a large, powerful third pair of claws. Long, muscular, serpentine tail. “Sonic breath”, a natural air cannon that is powerful enough to break the sound barrier, several times over. Mirie rarely uses this form, often reserving it as a last resort due to its size and strength. She may occasionally use its wings for flight in urgent scenarios.
A silver fox (vulpes vulpes). She uses her róka form for its sheer speed.
A black jaguar. This form is used for its significant bite force.
An east african wild dog. Mirie uses this form mostly for its exceptional senses.
A jett black ussuri brown bear. She typically uses this form for feats of strength less urgent than she what she would use her sárkány form for.
