===== About The Duskerian Auxiliary Patrol Garrisons =====
The Duskerian Auxiliary Patrol Garrisons (DOG) is an organization within the [[shards:ndc:]] that works with the leadership, whether that be the Archduke/Archduchess or the nobles of a given System within the stellar territories that make up the  [[shards:ndc]]. Its equipped on a per-system basis, this means that it is up to the people in charge of a system to equip its local DOG forces whether they be nobility or local administrators working under the central government.

While it is a branch of the [[shards:ndc:rn|Duskerian Royal Navy]], it doesn’t use actual up-to-date warships, relying more on fighter patrols, defense platforms, and smaller starships that are easier to maintain and cheaper to procure than the CAFF's latest models. The focus of the DAPG is on preventing pirate attacks and managing shipping lanes. That said, its defense platforms are meant be enough to stop or slow down invading military fleets until the CAFF can arrive.

While the CAFF is designed to be the full military of the [[shards:ndc:|NDC]], the DOG is the organization that focuses on organizing system patrol and piracy defense, though each system’s forces operate somewhat independently.

==== Role of the D.A.P.G ====
The role of the Duskerian Auxiliary Patrol Garrisons is the defense of the stellar territory of [[shards:ndc:]]. It is excluded from aiding in the invasion of other non-faction systems. Its role is to handle the orbital borders of NDC-controlled worlds, extending to the borders of their star systems which make up the territories of the small nation. The DOG uses orbital and ground-based defense platforms, as well as border patrol fleets in their respective systems. It also has planetary-based naval garrisons, for housing the navy.

The DOG has advanced technology that can detect emerging ships and monitor them as they come into the system. If there is any suspicious activity or the ship seems hostile, the DOG will attempt to stop them, with help from the CAFF if necessary. In wartime, it extends their role to block enemy fleets from entering the system and prevent landings on NDC worlds if the former perhaps fails.

Nobles, which the Duskerian Auxiliary Patrol Garrisons serves under, steward each System. The Noble establishes the Garrison and the units of the DOG and the military, and they acquire the equipment and gear from the main government. They are also raised and established by that system’s noble, but loyalty still lies to the nation itself.

==== System Defense ====
[[shards:ndc]] systems are defended by a network of defense platforms in orbit of NDC worlds, which are linked to the picket patrols that watch over planetary borders. These patrols primarily make use of [[shards:ndc:starships:aifighter|Starbreakers]], Sparrow, and Sparrowhawk. Fighter/frame patrols are typically based at either a local station or in one of the DOG's patrol frigates.
