Carbon cloak is a basic spell in the school of [[magic:ash_magic]] that manifests a cloak or cape of pure carbon and ash that glows at the hem with the faint heat of lit embers.

===== Overview =====
When cast with the simple invocation and exertion of will the earth will begin to burn in a circle around the caster and will form into a growing mass of carbon and ash that will take the form of the desired robe, cape, cowl, or scarf on the caster. The ash will emanate heat not harmful to the cast and will glow in places where embers are stored.

The purpose of the spell is more than just aesthetic and acts as an equipable mass of quick spell material that the caster is able to control freely. It can also be used defensively but holds no hard-mass and objects will pass through it easier than fabric.


===== Casting=====
Carbon Cloak can be cast by any mage with an affinity for fire and earth magic and who has combined them into ash magic. By giving basic exertion of will and chanting an activation invocation or a similar word of power and focussing on a point of contact will activate the spell at the desired location.
