The Atlas shipyards are three massive cradles situated several miles south of the [[locations:ereshkigal:khandar|Khandar military base]] and west of the capital city of [[locations:ereshkigal:chaldea]]. The shipyards are the first planetside ship cradles dedicated by the [[shards:bts]] for ground-to-space capable cutter and frigate-sized vessels.

===== History =====

One of the first established operations from the burgeoning Congolerate was to seek out not only their missing or lost colony ships but also their mysterious world and new home system. For this, the knowledge that several expeditionary vessels would be required. 

Hence the first ship cradles have constructed some distance away from the capital but close enough to a nearby military base in case of attack from the dangerous creatures of their world.

Three large ship-cradles that look like upturned rib cages sit on massive pylons that hold the construction and assembly arms. The cradles are large but only large enough to construct small cutter and frigate-sized vessels.
