Aside from your typical manufacturing of medicines and drugs, they are more well known for their implant technology and bio-mechanical breakthroughs such as the Bio-Organic Optical Sensory Suite used in the Operator project. While closely partnered with the New Dusk Conclave, they maintain private satellite research facilities just outside the borders of NDC space. ===== History ===== While many pre-Exodus records have been lost in the journey to the Sanctuary System, it is well known that the Bio-Medical Institute, or BMI, was founded prior to the refugees' arrival on Sirris II. A contributing company to the Exodus project, they would not only supply much of the medicine and chemicals required for stasis during the long journey but would be a major contributing partner in the Operator Project. Since then they have grown to not only be a prominent corporation within NDC controlled space, but a partner in the everyday lives of the NDC's citizens, whether through their production of medication, prosthetics, or bio-mechanical implants. During the 50 years post arrival on Sirris II, BMI has rapidly expanded production, research, and asset acquisition. While publicly traded, much of their internal functioning and research remains highly secretive. Partly because they maintain isolated research stations outside the borders of NDC controlled space.
