====== Altair Class Frigate ======

The BAMF-FFG2 class Frigate also known as the Altair class of Frigates is a exploration frigate manufactured at the Gorgon Spire shipyyards by the Remnant Conglomerate and fielded by the Babel Armed Military Force - 'BAMF'.

Ostensibly, it's a [[nation:bts:bamf:ships:aquilla_class|]] modified for exploration purposes. The greatest change is that instead of being flanked by mass driver pontoons, the Altair is flanked by two cargo containers, greatly expanding it's transport capabilities. The scanning abilities of the ship are also enhanced, along with the mineral, gas and fuel processing capabilities. Usually it also carries mining vessels in her shuttle bay. All of this traits combined allow the Altair to have a much longer running time than the Aquilla as long as it can find resources to process.

Needless to say that in a fight, this vessel is far much too unequipped, thus they are usually escorted by much more armed vessels.
