 Born in Lusia, capital of the Lusiads. His father, a fisherman and his mother, a school teacher. A happy family until a card accident ended his mother's life. His father withdrew into drinking, leaving Thyago alone. As soon as possible he joined the BAMF at 16 as a way to receive a higher education, where he studied History, just one year prior the Heaven's war beginning. One of the youngest captains of the BAMF, Thyago rose to his rank through a mix of skill, battlefield commissions during the Heaven's War and the ever decreasing number of trained officers in the fleet.
+Of particular note in his career during the Heaven's War was a naval refugee escort mission where the then Commander Magellan rammed a destroyer class vessel into a pirate vessel of similar mass. Due to a stroke of luck and the already aging enemy ship's construction, Thyago's ship managed to get away with minimal damage. For this, he was given the nicknames, Al Brutan by the Qadeshi and Hammerhead by his crew.
